For 22 years Greg Roberts has provided his expertise to Crossroads Industrial Services through effective project management on military specification packaging and the Combat Identification Program, which the Department of Defense developed in the early 1990s to reduce “friendly fire” accidents suffered during ground-to-ground warfare. He has been instrumental to Crossroads’ ability to serve several larger commercial customers and the U.S. Federal Government.
Greg helped forge a successful business relationship with the Department of Defense’s (DOD) Acquisition division, Source America, resulting in the award of Crossroads’ first DOD contract in 1998. Through Greg’s leadership and successful management of this project, a multi-step process was implemented which included the procurement of materials and partners, Crossroads’ tooling and machinery capability upgrades, and the increased staffing necessary to produce and deliver the finished products quickly and efficiently to the U.S. Army and Marines in Iraq and Afghanistan. Greg’s “can do” attitude was critical in setting up and sustaining this $100 million plus revenue source of business. Greg guided this project to fulfill Crossroads’ mission of providing a quality product and expanding employment for persons with disabilities, while also saving the lives of our military men and women.
Greg’s success at Crossroads has won him many awards, such as the Source America’s Unsung Hero Award for 2006 for his contributions in enhancing employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Crossroads has received multiple Letters of Commendation from various U.S. Army Program Executive Officers during the life of our contract recognizing the exemplary performance in delivering a quality product on time during periods of surge production. Greg continues to be an important part of this relationship with the U.S. Government making these contracts and employment opportunities possible. Greg has been featured at national and regional Source America conferences and has presented programs on developing business with the Federal government. Greg has also participated in multiple Source America Grassroots Advocacy Conferences in Washington D.C. where he accompanies a current Crossroads employee to advocate for more employment opportunities for persons with disabilities with Indiana’s Senators and Representatives offices.
Each year, Crossroads employees nominate members of staff who go above and beyond in their work to be presented with a special Aby Award. Greg was awarded this prestigious distinction in 2008, 2011 and 2014.
Greg hails from the Southside of Indianapolis and enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. As in his role with Crossroads, Greg also goes above and beyond in his personal life by volunteering to coach youth athletics within the Catholic Youth Organization. He has also served as President for the St. Barnabas Men’s Club, volunteers for Roncalli High School and is involved in the Southside Catholic Business Professionals.
Greg is a hands-on manager with a lot of heart for our mission, and has been a vital part of the delivery of services to our customers.
We are proud to have Greg Roberts as a part of our Crossroads Industrial Services Team.
